October Roundup 1: CD reviews Rebecca Nash/Marc Copland

I’ve written a couple of reviews over the last month for London Jazz News. The links are below to the full reviews.

Rebecca Nash hails from Bristol originally and, despite living in various other cities over the last few years, is still a regular on the scene both with this band Atlas and in a few of the other eclectic and diverse collaborations that spring up in the city. The recording is a great calling card for her own conceptions and writing with a really fine band.

Marc Copland seems to be producing a minor flurry of recordings at the moment. Hard on the heels of his solo piano album Gary, comes a trio recording with long standing partners the Drew Gress and Joey Baron. They are all singular musicians in their own right and the chemistry between them makes the trio a sublime experience. I am loving this album.
